Since the 2008 decommissioning of the airport, the Tempelhofer Feld has been home to numerous large events, including fashion and music festivals. Having been designed with one of the worlds largest buildings, this makes it a perfect location for holding fairs and stages in the massive hangers. Outside of the main buildings, the expansive several kilometre long runway sections and surrounding green areas make for perfect cycling or jogging tracks, while the surrounding green areas are used as Nature Reserves or recreational areas for BBQs, relaxing, and general fun-having.
